Public Hearing on Updated ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan

The City of Gainesville will conduct a public hearing on its updated draft of the ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan at the May 1st City Council Meeting at 6:30 in City Hall (200 S. Rusk).

The City’s original evaluation to assess its policies, practices, and procedures to determine compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) was conducted in 1993.  The City completed the transition plan that outlined the method and time period for ensuring compliance with the ADA in 1994.

The update ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan will continue to guide the planning and implementation of necessary program and facility modifications over the next several years.

The ADA Transition Plan is significant in that it establishes the City of Gainesville’s ongoing commitment to the development and maintenance of policies, programs, and facilities that include all residents.
