At least 50% of the committee members must represent the real estate, development, or building industries, and one member must reside in the City of Gainesville’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Members may not be employees or officials of a political subdivision or governmental entity.
Overview
The Capital Improvements Advisory Committee:
Advises the City Council on land use assumptions, the capital improvements plan, and impact fees.
Assists with the adoption of land use assumptions.
Reviews the capital improvements plan and provides written comments.
Monitors and evaluates implementation of the capital improvements plan.
Submits semi-annual reports to the City Council on the progress of the plan.
Reports any perceived inequities in implementing the plan or imposing impact fees.
Advises City staff and the City Council when updates or revisions are needed to the land use assumptions, capital improvements plan, or impact fees.
